Crazy morning what with the smell of elite fear on every breeze. As long as these birds don't tank the stock markets and ruin everybody's 401(k)s, it's kinda fun.

* Ta-Nehisi Coates does it again: a phenomenal must-read on mass incarceration in the context of the damage already done to the African-American family by the U.S. government, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Moynihan Report.
* New CBS/NYT national poll shows Trump and Carson corralling exactly half the GOP vote; Bush, Huck and Rubio tied for 3d at a booming 6%; Walker way down at 2%.
* In PPP survey of Florida, Trump trouncing Jeb 55/38 in head-to-head matchup. Wow.
* At the Plum Line, Paul Waldman notes that $15 trillion of the $18 trillion WSJ estimate of the cost of Bernie Sanders' proposals is 10-year cost of a single payer bill Bernie has not endorsed.
* Mike Tomasky offers HRC some good advice about addressing inequality from the perspective of its victims, not its perpetrators.
